ZHI
During our 2nd Game Project at Futuregames as a Game Designer, we as a group made our game in Unity for four weeks known as Zhi. And Zhi is a co-op puzzle escape room game where one player controls the human while the other player controls the ghost dog for helping each other to fight out what happened.
Game Designer
As a Game designer for this project, my main role for the first two weeks was known as the Puzzle Designer. Together with the rest of the designers we thought of Ideas of puzzles to add in the game, but for my part I had to pair these Ideas to see which order and which ones could work or now within the time we had for this project.
One Puzzle Idea I had was that we had this bookcase that had missing books which the player and the dog would need to find to add them back into the bookcase which would open up a new doorway into another room.
Another puzzle I had was that once the electricity or something was fixed, would allow the TV in the living room to be active again! This would allow the human player to play a game of themselves in the same apartment on the TV as a pixelated character. While the Dog had to help the player to find a map where the human had to go in that TV game.
Pixel Artist
As one of the Game Designers, I had this Idea about this TV puzzle, but since the artists in our group were already too busy with making the 3D assets for our main game, I took the role as the Pixel Artist for making the assets needed for the TV puzzle the last two weeks.
So as the Pixel Artist I made all of the pixel art assets and animations for the TV puzzle game, together with making the tileset and placing them in the TV game as well. It was my first time making a pixel game in Unity which was fun and challenging to do.
